Presenting Magister’s & Emerson’s Joint
NTN Digital Twin Capabilities at ISD 2026
September 3, 2026
September 3, 2026
As satellite constellations continue to scale globally, the need for accurate validation, test, measurement, and digital twin tools is increasing. Operators and vendors must assess system performance across complex, multi-orbit environments.
To address this challenge, Magister Solutions and Emerson Hungary have combined their expertise to bridge the gap between system-level satellite constellation simulation and real-time link-level emulation of actual network components – filling an existing gap in the market.
The collaboration will be formally announced at Industry Space Days 2026, which is organized on 16-17 September in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. Emerson will join Magister’s exhibition booth (A21), where both companies will present the cooperatively developed products and joint capabilities.
Magister Solutions is a Finnish company that specializes in communication network simulation tools and services. Magister’s system-level simulation software makes it possible to model real-world communication systems in detail – both satellite and terrestrial.
Emerson is a multinational company that provides software-connected automated Test & Measurement (T&M) systems across semiconductor, electronics, transportation, aerospace, and defence markets. Engineers across industries rely on T&M to ensure the safety, reliability, and functionality of technologies.
In the collaboration, the two companies combined their capabilities to develop compatible products for designing and testing real-world satellite constellations in detail. The European Space Agency has funded these activities under the titles “Satellite Trajectory Tool for Digital Twin and T&M Framework for SATCOM Space Segment” and “Digital Twin and T&M Framework for SATCOM Space Segment”.
Magister was responsible for extending the existing C-DReAM orbital simulator with the Satellite Trajectory Tool and SIB19 Configuration Tool, enabling the generation of time-stamped trajectory, trace, and SIB19-related outputs for emulator interfacing and scenario visualization. Emerson, concurrently, developed a system-level RF channel emulator capable of interacting with, and integrating the orbital simulator.
Together, these complimentary products respond to the growing need in the market for SatCom NTN end-to-end testing frameworks, accelerating time-to-market and reducing the total cost of ownership.
Channel emulators combined with system-level information provide a more comprehensive understanding of the performance of satellite constellations with many satellites and system-level interactions.
The orbit simulator (C-DReAM) gives information about intersatellite effects that affect the performance of the system. Combined with a channel emulator, it can validate the network components together with system-level characteristics in a realistic environment.
Evaluating these factors in a detailed T&M environment helps manage the cost and risk of the constellation – making it possible to reach maximum capacity at minimum cost and reduced risk.
Visitors to Industry Space Days 2026 will be among the first to learn about this collaboration and how it combines the strengths of both companies to address emerging space industry challenges.
Magister Solutions is registered as an ISD 2026 exhibitor at booth A21. Joined by Emerson Hungary, we will officially announce our collaboration to the space market and discuss it in more detail. We will showcase demos of the products we have developed cooperatively.
We warmly welcome you to visit us at the event to learn more about our joint capabilities and expertise over satellite constellation validation and testing environments.
