We are excited to announce that Sateliot, the leading satellite telecommunications operator in 5G IoT connectivity, has chosen Magister Solutions as a simulator provider for LEO satellite constellation development.
Sateliot will utilize the Magister SimLab simulation platform and C-DReAM system simulator for developing their LEO (Low Earth Orbit) 5G satellite constellation.
This collaboration aligns with Sateliot’s objective of providing global 5G IoT internet connectivity to strengthen digitalization around the world – fostering innovation and improving quality of life. Magister’s simulators support Sateliot’s satellite constellation design, helping optimize quality of service for various real-world circumstances.
As two European companies working together to advance NTN-based connectivity, the collaboration also contributes to strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty in space.
Many civil and critical applications – such as logistics, environmental monitoring, security, and defence – depend on reliable, uninterrupted connectivity. Satellite IoT bridges the gap where terrestrial networks are unavailable, ensuring continuous communication even in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
“We are proud to start collaborating with Sateliot on a topic that will have a big impact on the future of satellite communications. This also shows that we can offer added value to optimizing real satellite constellations with our software-based simulators”, states Kimmo Kaario, CEO of Magister Solutions.
“Magister Solutions’ simulators will allow us to simulate and improve our 5G NB-IoT constellation and optimize QoS. Thanks to their platform, we will be able to model critical scenarios, including our store & forward capability, ensuring reliable messaging in areas without terrestrial coverage”, says Marco Guadalupi, CTO and co-founder of Sateliot.
Magister Solutions is a Finnish company specializing in system simulator development and 5G TN/NTN technology. Our simulators are targeted at optimizing wireless system performance, and modeling satellite constellation parameters and characteristics in detail.
Sateliot is deploying the first LEO satellite constellation based on the 5G standard, enabling unmodified NB-IoT commercial devices to connect from space. This innovation seamlessly integrates terrestrial and satellite telecommunications, offering affordable IoT solutions for remote areas and aligning with Sateliot’s mission to democratize access to a global IoT.
